We wish you all a Happy Easter as we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. What a joy it is to remember that we do not serve a "dead" god but we serve the our risen Lord and Savior who sits at the right hand of God the Father!!!
We have had a wonderful Easter season and the Lord has blessed us greatly as we have served him through KFC.
KFC had an Easter egg hunt on Good Friday at the church. We had 30+ kids and a number of parents as well. The children had a wonderful time. We had three hunts (Oldest kids, middle ages, and little toddlers.) all of which went really well. After the hunts we gathered all the kids into the hall and Andrew gave a short talk on, "Why we call it Good Friday when someone died?" We also presented the prise for the child who found the one golden egg, it was a beautiful stuffed lamb. As I presented the lamb I spoke about how Jesus was the perfect lamb who came to take away the sins of the world. The children had where all given freezer bags to dump there candy into (we took the plastic eggs back for next year) and in that bag was a track which asked the question, "Why and lamb" and then went through the gospel message in simple terms. So we pray and ask you to pray that the Lord will use these tracks to touch the hearts of these children and perhaps their parents as well. We took down all the children's names and address and we will be sending them a thank you card and information about our Sunday School program.
Easter Sunday we had a nice service in the morning followed by an Easter Evening of Praise. We had quite number of people at this event. (I forgot to count:() We sang hymns, there was a "Gaelic" song sung by one of the young girls, reading of scripture, Andrew gave a short message, and we closed with the Doxology. It was a lovely service and everyone seemed to enjoy it very much. Following the service we had tea and all sorts of goodies to eat. People stayed around and we all enjoyed getting to know new faces.
