Gideon

Gideon is my cute, funny little kid. He loves to be inside boxes or tubs - it doesn't matter how much other "stuff" is in the tub or how small the tub is. He will find a way to get in and play with the toys!

Off to Church!

Andrew and Gaius are matching in their new Christmas (gifts)purple dress shirts. Gaius was so proud of his new look--for that matter so was Andrew:)

Don't they look so cute!?! Gaius was fed up with photos at this point and just wanted to go to Church to see all his friends.

Candlelight Dinner

We were sitting down to dinner yesterday and Gaius asked if we could light the candles, so we did. But it did not stop there - we turned all the lights off and ate our Mexican food by candlelight. It was fun!

The photos don't show how dark it was because of the flash, but never mind - you get the idea.

New Year's Eve

Two days before New Year's Eve I was in bed at night and turned to Andrew and said, "I feel like Fettuccine Alfredo American style. I have a recipe to make it!" So from there we went to inviting everyone at church who did not already have plans to come over and have dinner and celebrate the New year! We had 15 people and really had a wonderful time.

Gaius got a hold of one of the girl's high heels and I told him if he could walk in them he could have a cookie. Well, sure enough he could, everyone laughed and he thought this was great so we had "drag" toddler entertainment. Andrew did not laugh nearly as much as I did!

I had made starters (a.k.a. appetizers) and Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and garlic bread. Everyone enjoyed it so that was good.

The assassinated Christmas tree (see story below) took part in our midnight bonfire and roasting of marshmallows.

One of the kids looked at it and said, "Look! It's the burning bush!" Except this one actually did burn up.

The marshmallows were good, and at midnight we watched our neighbours' wonderful fireworks display and they had a bagpiper, which sounded lovely.

Minus Eight Degrees C

One afternoon Andrew took these photos for the blog. He was either taking the trash down our long icy country drive way or walking the dog, I cannot remember:) Praise the Lord I am a woman and got to stay inside by the warm fire (which my sweet hubby made) with two of the cutest kids in the world! I definitely got the better end of that stick didn't I!!!

Sunday School Christmas Party

The Sunday School Christmas Party was a huge success and and we had 15 kids plus adults. We were even able to speak to some of the parents of kids who came along at the end of the party when they came to pick up their kids. Though they did not stay for the party we were able to offer many of them a cup of tea before they left and have a chat, so that was great. Andrew Wylie brought all the "toys" for the kids including the fantastically popular bucking bull and two bouncy castles.
Gideon and the girls!
Gideon having fun on the bull with Katharina.
Gaius and both John and George had so much fun riding the bull together.
Aren't our kids in our Sunday School so cute!
They are all such a joy to have around!
We have such great kids in our Sunday School.

Bouncing fun, the kids all loved the two bouncy castles.

More bouncing fun!

Even more bouncing fun!

Gideon loved riding on the bull so long as Daddy held tightly to him, though he could ride without being held!

The kids (and adults present) had a feast of goodies to eat!

Post Christmas

For two days after Christmas we hardly touched the mess of the aftermath. We simply played with new toys (both kids and parents) and went shopping in the huge after Christmas sales with some money and returns from Christmas. Overall it was a great calm before the next storm!
